#Weatnu Records YEAR ONE compilation Tracks 17 to 32

Continuing on with the sonic journey...

Tracks 17 to 32
As though filtering the sounds of the cosmos into music Bleepeater's offering 'Empty Vortex' is some fantastically spaced out ambient, being followed by Blueonsilver's track, 'pinkonblue'.
Pinkonblue, is delightfully playful, bouncy rhythmic ethnic leads getting taken over by techno percussive sounds and trancey leads, the track skips along in pace, pleasantly playful and noisy!
A very dancey track from Jazzycat, house chord progressions with rock guitars and smooth jazzy moments, 'Automatic' is a wonderfully chilled out piece that captures the essence of Jazzycat as best as possible in one track.

Sea Mountains (featuring Derek Blaskie) 'plasma waves' is an adventure into indie electro-rock sounding funkiness, and has an attitude and feel very much its own. (I love the drumming on this!)
Roofy gives us 'look how far we've come' an electro-rock commentary on what can be accomplished when you don't give in, Roofy's unique vocals give the song a punky/hip-hop sort of attitude.
More known as a drum and bass producer Bufinjer has put out a fantastic track for this compilation, 'celestial' has awesome idm vibe, and comes across as pretty experimental and mysterious in feel, the ethnic sounding percussion is very tribal.

Kicking in with industrial dancefloor fodder we get CRBNIZED 'learning to fly' a solid track excellent minimalist overdriven echoing leads, stomping beat and distorted vocals.
Crest of the Syndicate are at track 24, with 'osprey' a tranquil beat driven ambient piece, delightful sound pallette at work here, strange squelching, choral pads? and chiming melodies.
More electro-rock from Comfort Within Noise, with an experimental vibe, moody and head nodding inducing, love the lead guitar when it kicks in! Attitude, this track has it!

Devilsclub 'voce di strega (live)' is glitchy, beat driven idm, damn noisy synth bleepiness :)
Leading onto, Digibilly, bringing the drum&bass noise with 'We Are The New Underground' solid beats, distorted vocals and gloriously heavy bass, another on the list of head nodding tracks. #Weatnu "we rise..."
Dajoka's 'True (original mix)' has laidback glitchy beats. A trippy vibe flows through this dubby, bass heavy joy, ending in a delightfully unexpected manner.
Continuing on tracks with heavy drums, Digital Slumber Party's 'chasing mirrors (feat Chanel C Corpuz)' awesome melodies, beats and light, nicely verbed vox pull this dancefloor track along solidly.

A break from beats for the intro of Dysfonic's 'Warning (instrumental)'. Heavy string sections bring a moody edge back. When the beats and digital noise hit in again, its for an awesome soundtrack like journey. The almost prog rock synth lines are aces!
Flowing nicely on from 'warning', we get En Snares 'BLACK DEVICE RED LED' old school nineties vibes, mix with more contemporary noise and explorative sequences.
Ending this posting of tracks with one of the more harsh industrial sounding ones.
Track 32, Bedtime for Robots 'Don't You Scream' dancefloor stomping, with a hihat that sounds like a knife slicing through the air alike Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho shower scene… Overdriven, bleeping basslines and a solid kick drive this beast along.

Next posting... soonish, enjoy the music. - Jessica Pink.

#Weatnu Records YEAR ONE compilation Tracks 1 to 16

With the release of the #WeatnuRecords 'Year One' compilation, I wanted to do a quick (for a 74 track album) run through of the tracks.
I'll be posting a few of these over next week or two, as there's a lot of material to write about, even if only briefest of descriptions are given. It's been a pleasure hearing all I have so far, and am very happy to have one of my own noisy offerings as part of it.
(Links to album and artist twitter accounts at end of article)

Tracks 1 to 16
Opening with Clayfeet 'Good Night Friend' the compilation kicks off with an uplifting instrumental, equal parts electronics and big beat, entering into Anodic8 'Revelation' darker techno vibes bleed into a solid beat with a feel not far removed from some of Gary numans recent offerings.

1912 takes us time travelling into 80's synthpop territory with 'Timing will keep us apart forever' love the arpeggios and funky guitars! Swooshy synthpads vocoded phrases guide this track along, somehow fitting that it is followed by the down tempo offering 'if I could' by Austeya, bringing the listener back to earth in the modern day. A melancholy vibed love song, "you're the only thing that shines bright".

Already having passed through 4 different genres/vibes, we are onto the experimental ambient electronic sounds of 'Parashoots' by Almark, ethereal synths and moody reflection, I adore the spoken word samples on the track, "they don't do that anymore... "

Ethnic percussion and choral pads introduce us to the ambient world music sounds of Akiba Jonze's 'Realm of Rain' a calming meditative journey into the wilds. Beautiful guitar and chimes!
Which is in complete contrast to the cityscape noise of Alphastare's track, 'Stairs to the inside out' though in some ways the tracks are similar in their journey, pulsing along at a steady reflective pace, with the ambience of their own environments.
The fabulous duo known as Meter Bridge bring us gently back into song with the track 'Don't forget to breathe', moody with its melodies, a song for candle lit rooms and intimacies... As far I'm concerned anyway ;P

Now, onto Amniotic, 'Bacteria', very danceable electronica! Funky cinematic string rushes, a proper night time driving track!
Andrulian's 'The Twilight Sea' gives us almost 9 minutes of a blippy, squelchy, swooshy soundscape to navigate, beautiful, kind of chilled yet a teeny bit tense and creepy at times... I love it!
On with track 11, Ashleigh Antaloni, 'Blank Face' creepiest 'out there' trip-hop like track I've heard in ages! Beautifully creepycool! Awesome twinkling musicbox melodies.
Another tune immediately contrasting its predecessor, Adryelle's very housey vibed 'Deep blue water' awesome vocals and bassline! (Featuring StarBoy)

Bare island's 'Solar' fades into existence with a number of perfectly reverb soaked sounds and a luscious bass.
Percussive elements dropping in adding support to the bass, brilliantly moody, the lead guitar part (if not an overdrive effected synth) has a lot of soul to it. Really wish the track was a little longer...
Another more energetic pick up, Beefus B 'Dreams of a night market' middle eastern vibes with some jazzy percussion and blippy techno noise.

Following Beefus B, a favourite of mine, Belial Pelegrim, and the track 'Alice Warlock' one of Belial's whirring percussion led tracks with a warbly gliding bass, ambient textures and quirky melodies rising and falling in the mix.

Swooshy synths glide in, bringing BvsMV (Bicycle versus Motor-Vehicle) into play. Upbeat experimental synth led sounds take the listener for a wonderous journey with 'We've come so far (to new beginnings)'.

New Blog Duties Are Go!

In an effort to combine things, and breathe life into this blog again... going to start using it as a place to review music by other artists (predominantly #Weatnu artists), share my own on occasion, and also the odd bit of ASMR dabbling and creative nonsense.

To end this rather brief new beginning.
Some Yuletide Noise!
(free to download and whatnot...)
Peace and Yuletide blessing, yours, Jessica Pink.

Droobles

I've been dragging on droobles if you know what I mean,
too much gaffing on the cables, senorita supreme.
Lashing on the stations, drinking up the keens.
Got an eye for the details, if you know what I mean…

Kicking up the skyside, full of lack and somewhat funning.
Got a mean smile, so shamelessly gunning,
at the drabs and the havenots, people of my level.
At the Trinkets with their blingers, those of empathy dishevelled.

I RIDE!!!!
Missed up and confuciusing.
This is my temple, here is the steeple,
go crying to mummy, if you can't push the freakture.

I've been dragging on droobles, chewing on loaves.
Got to get up, got to bring it in on remote.
Kow to the lesser man, lip up to the preebles.
besuited, behooved, blundering leechables.

Kicking up the skyside, drinking up the keens.
Got an eye for the details, if you know what I mean…

Dreaming of lost moments, can they be caught again?

Dreams.
Occasionally some are like little alternate realities of fantasies unclaimed and life aspects unlived.
Moments that if not for the shrouds of lies, secrets and bad choices ourselves and others have wrapped around us, could have been lived or shared.
Beyond denial and boozily loosened boundaries, are there ways to repair things, restore trusts and openness? a 'lets start from now, don't question the past'
I'm not just talking about sex, but of intimacy, hands held, gentle kisses, cuddles under duvets on cold nights. Moments of "you've got to see this picture/video/joke" and "You won't believe what happened/who I bumped into today"
To touch and be touched, not only in body but spirit. To bond and live with a feeling of connectedness.
A small out-pouring of words from someone lost from the path of life, but trying to find it again.

The Play

The Play.

What is this game I am living?
Sleeping and waking for no sure reason,
Fallen outside the boundary of the common citizen
A burden become to this chaotic system.

What direction to take?
when the value of faces,
cannot be trusted,
too many just fake it.

Learn from such errors,
spend time trying to play like them.
Just grow a little more hateful,
that apparently its normal.

"Everyone does it"
at one time or another.
Smile like you mean it,
it won't cheapen the moment.

Confusion becomes such a daily placement,
if not mine then of others, too lost in themselves.

Fading with the Sundown,
Heading for the Exit.
Is this "thank you and goodnight" ?
or "til we meet again" ?
