Coming in just shy of an hour runtime, this two track split between Penis Gabriel and Cum Gutter is definitely one of the more chilled out releases on Blackened Death Records.
Part one, being Penis Gabriels contribution to this split release, formed of Alan Morse Davies and Matthew Austin.
Collisions of numbers stations, warped lullaby instrumentals and spacious reverberations, drown you in their drunken careering caress. Bagpipes bloom from the chaos, before it descends back to the depths of number station soup and drones.
Time progresses and choral elements and grinding percussive synth sounds pull themselves into the mix like an invading alien intelligence, before the bagpipes guide us back to the chaos of numbers and we fade to black.
Part two is Cum Gutter’s offering, emerges as an overdriven low static, prowling into your earspace.
Its thrumbing grainy textures feel like a wave of droning helicopter rotors, peppered with phasing swooshes.
In-between its swells and lulls the composition pulls you along, occupying your mind with its almost tranquil pulsing, building up into an intensity like a slow motion of incoming emergency services vehicles, before fading out into the void of silence…
