Digibilly - The Smooth, The Groove, The Grungy.

New Digibilly album soon! (I got a sneak preview)

From the great first track ’The Eastwood’ you are introduced to the world of the Philadelphia based DJ and producer, Digibilly.
The (accurately) self described mad scientist of drum and bass, he brings in a variety of beats and breaks that underpin the basslines and sample choices that make up the foundation of his tracks.

Elements of techno, trance, breakbeat, rock and industrial sound palettes, drop their mark alongside gabba kicks and compositions that would be perfect for a turn of the millennium multiplayer shoot-em up (obviously in my opinion)

The vibes throughout this release capture a space between the aforementioned head nodding uptempo energy and a contradictive chill out feel. Equally this collection of tunes could be great dance floor fillers and be great in background lazing about on a hot day with some drinks and good company.

Standout tracks for me are The Eastwood, Lunatic, Freak, and Tranquil Frustration (love the glitchy non-drumkit percussion and melodies on this)

The Eastwood starts up with stomping kicks, and a Clint Eastwood intro before going full Ennio Morricone level epic. Following this, the mad laughathon that is Lunatic with its heaving bass swells and snare rushes, taking you on a classic Drum and Bass ride to the asylum.
Freak "let your freak flag fly" is full of solid aggressive kicks and brass stabs, pounding along to its sub bass and breaks.
Tranquil Frustration is the most chilled of my top picks, opening chords and melody that wouldn't be out of place on a 90s RnB or synthwave track, both industrial sounding glitches and almost tribal percussive clapping rythms ride along on top of the bass and beats.

'Lunatic' is released as an EP with 3 remixes available Now on Bandcamp and released on the other usual streaming sites from the 15th of may. (remixes by Verzo, Katomo and Myself )

The Album 'The Smooth, The Groove, The Grungy.' will be available for pre-order from 20th of may and released 2nd of June.
